ABOUT THE CLIENT
Knott’s Decorating is a family-run painting and decorating company based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Providing high quality residential and commercial decorating services. Craig & Glenn Knott have a solid reputation in their field and are proud to have many repeat customers year after year.
BRIEF
As an established company that has been in business for over 10 years. Craig & Glenn Knott thought it was the right time to brand their assets to best promote and grow their business. They were looking for a corporate identity, that could be applied across various elements such as a website, vehicle graphics, business cards, social media platforms, outdoor signage and t-shirts.
CONCEPT
After meeting with the client to discuss their business, aims and objectives to ensure the new brand met these goals. We discussed ideas and their preferences for the new design, they wanted their identity to be smart, simple and stylish promoting there professionalism. With all logo designs, they need to be flexible to work across many platforms, from large vehicle graphics to small social media profile images.
The Knott’s Decorating logo is primarily text based, with a icon incorporating the letters KD of Knott’s Decorating, utilising a classic serif font for a timeless look. The ‘K’ within the KD icon, is created using negative space between the word KNOTT’S and the D shape. There is also a subtle reference to painting within the D, the idea that the D is a wall being painted which aids in creating the K shape as demonstrated in the last visual.
